This roughly 2-hour night tour takes you into the subtropical jungle of Iriomote Island, a World Natural Heritage site, with a flashlight in hand and a guide by your side. You will explore two spots in the jungle in search of nocturnal creatures that become active after sunset, and since the field has recorded sightings of the Iriomote cat, you might be lucky enough to see one. With almost no artificial light, Iriomote Island is recognized as Japan's first Dark Sky Place, so on clear nights you can also enjoy a sky full of stars. From early October to mid-November is the season when the Orionid meteor shower can be observed. Transfers from Uehara Port or accommodations in the Uehara area make joining easy.

Around 20:00, meet your guide at Uehara Port or your accommodation in the Uehara area and ride the PiPi vehicle to the field. On arrival, get ready with a flashlight and walk through the night jungle with your guide in search of wildlife. It is a chance to see the island's nighttime face, available only to travelers staying on Iriomote.

Iriomote's subtropical ecosystem is home to many creatures rarely seen on mainland Japan, such as the coconut crab, and nocturnal animals become active after sunset. The night tour explores two points in turn, and what you encounter differs from day to day. The tour takes place in a field where Iriomote cats have been sighted, so you might be lucky enough to spot one.

With almost no artificial light, Iriomote Island is recognized as Japan's first Dark Sky Place. On clear nights you can enjoy a natural planetarium of stars, and depending on the season you may see the Southern Cross (around December–June) and the Milky Way (around July–October). From early October to mid-November is the season for the Orionid meteor shower. The tour ends around 21:45, and you arrive back at Uehara Port or your accommodation around 22:00.
※ Wildlife lives in its natural habitat, so sightings are not guaranteed.
