This set plan lets you snorkel around Barasu Island by boat in the afternoon, take a break, and then head out on a jungle night tour. You meet your guide at Uehara Port or your hotel at 13:30 and move to the field. Your guide gives a thorough briefing, so beginners can join with peace of mind.

Snorkel at Barasu Island, reachable only by boat

Barasu Island is a small islet formed by piled-up coral fragments (barasu). It appears only at low tide and is also called the "miracle island." The waters around it are one of Okinawa's leading snorkeling spots for the number and variety of coral, where you swim in clear water and observe colorful coral and fish. If you are lucky, you may even meet a sea turtle.

Snorkeling runs from 14:00 to 15:30, and you return to Uehara Port or your hotel around 16:00 to rest until the next tour.

A jungle night tour only for island guests

After the break, you regroup and head to the night jungle field (departure 20:00 in summer / 19:30 in winter). Exploring Iriomote's subtropical jungle at night is a privilege reserved for those staying on the island. Most of Iriomote Island is designated as a Dark Sky Place, so on clear nights you can see a sky full of stars. You arrive back at Uehara Port around 22:00 in summer / 21:30 in winter, and guests using hotel pickup are dropped off at their hotel.
