Can Gio Monkey Island and mangroves

This roughly 8-hour tour takes you to the Can Gio Mangrove Biosphere Reserve, about 60 km from Ho Chi Minh City. After pickup from your District 1 hotel by air-conditioned minibus between 7:20 and 7:45 AM, you will walk on Monkey Island, explore the mangroves by speedboat and have lunch at a local restaurant. An English-speaking guide, boat trip, all entrance fees and bottled water are included, and you can choose a standard group (up to 16) or a small group (up to 12).

Walk on Monkey Island with long-tailed macaques

Your first stop is Monkey Island (Dao Khi Can Gio), where hundreds of long-tailed macaques roam freely. Stroll through the forest to watch the monkeys in their natural habitat and take photos. You can also observe crocodiles and watch them being fed.

Speed through the mangrove canals

Hop on a speedboat and cruise along the mangrove canals to see the surrounding ecosystem, while your guide explains the local environment and the history of the area. In the Can Gio mangrove forest area, you can experience the unique landscape of southern Vietnam's coastal wetlands and its wildlife.

Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant and head back

Relax over lunch at a local restaurant. Vegetarian options are available. After the tour, ride back to Ho Chi Minh City and get dropped off at your hotel in the late afternoon.
