From Hue: DMZ & Vinh Moc Tunnels Half-Day Tour

and head to the war sites of the 17th parallel

A vehicle picks you up from your hotel or a designated spot in Hue in the morning or afternoon. You drive about 85 km to the area that became the symbol of Vietnam's division for more than 20 years after the 1954 Geneva Accords. Depending on the option, you are accompanied by an English-speaking driver only or by a local guide.

Walk across Hien Luong Bridge, a symbol of division

From 1954 to 1975, this area was the center of political tension and conflict. The two-colored Hien Luong Bridge was a symbol of the divided country, and loudspeakers on both sides waged a constant "war of voices". Spend about 40 minutes around the bridge taking photos and walking.

Explore the Vinh Moc Tunnels, once an underground village

At the Vinh Moc Tunnels, you watch a video of about 20 minutes introducing their history and then go underground. Built by local residents between 1965 and 1967, the tunnels became a safe shelter during intense bombing and formed an underground village with wells, kitchens, meeting rooms, a clinic and living spaces for hundreds of people. Nearly 2 km long with several levels 10 to 30 m deep, the tunnels saw 17 babies born during the war.

After visiting Vinh Moc, you return to Hue along the coastal road. Morning tours arrive around 1:00 PM and afternoon tours around 7:00 PM.
