From Hue,
explore the Vietnam War sites of the DMZ in one day
Around 7:30 AM your guide and driver pick you up from your hotel in Hue city and head to the DMZ in Quang Tri Province. You visit the Highway of Horror, Long Hung Church, Quang Tri Citadel, Dakrong Bridge, Khe Sanh Combat Base Museum, Hien Luong Bridge and the Vinh Moc Tunnels, returning to your hotel in Hue around 6:00 PM. An English-speaking guide shares the stories behind each site, and lunch, bottled water and entrance fees are included.
Pass the Highway of Horror and visit Quang Tri Citadel

Travel along National Route 1, known as the "Highway of Horror", where countless civilians died under shelling on 1 May 1972. Stop at Long Hung Church, a national historic site and one of the few buildings in Quang Tri town left standing after the 1972 "Red Summer" offensive.
Then explore Quang Tri Citadel, almost completely destroyed by thousands of tons of bombs during an 81-day battle. Today it is a memorial and a place to learn about the history of the war.
Cross Dakrong Bridge to the Khe Sanh Combat Base Museum

Dakrong Bridge, regarded as the starting point of the Ho Chi Minh Trail network, collapsed several times during the war and has been rebuilt as a suspension bridge. On the way you may also have the chance to visit a Pa Ko ethnic minority village.
At the Khe Sanh Combat Base Museum, on the site of the former Ta Con Airfield, you can see US tanks and downed aircraft captured during the Battle of Khe Sanh. Local Khe Sanh coffee is available at your own expense, followed by lunch.
Walk Hien Luong Bridge and explore the Vinh Moc Tunnels

After lunch, visit Hien Luong Bridge over the Ben Hai River on the 17th parallel, the line that divided Vietnam into North and South under the 1954 Geneva Accords. Also known as the "Peace Bridge", it is 178 m long.
Finally, visit the highlight of the tour: the Vinh Moc Tunnels and tunnel museum. This underground complex sheltered the people of Vinh Linh District from intense bombing and gives a vivid sense of life during the war.
※ Modest dress is required at Quang Tri Citadel. If you are wearing shorts, you can rent a cover-up on site for VND 10,000.
