Hoi An Thu Bon River Delta Countryside Bike Tour with Boat Return

This guided tour starts in Hoi An and takes you on a 9 km bike ride through the quiet waterways and villages of the Thu Bon River delta. The morning tour departs at 8:30 AM and lasts about 6.5 hours including lunch at a local home, while the afternoon tour departs at 1:00 PM and lasts about 5 hours without lunch. A bicycle and helmet, bridge and ferry fees, and bottled water are included, with a maximum of 10 people per group.

Cross between islands by ferry and floating bridge

Cross the river by local ferry and, when conditions allow, walk your bike over a floating bridge to move between islands. Ride along quiet country lanes off the beaten path and take in views of the river and rice paddies.

Visit village workshops and traditional houses

Stop at a traditional boat-building yard, see boats decorated with mother-of-pearl, and visit a basket boat maker where you can try a basket boat yourself. Watch how traditional sleeping mats are woven, and visit a family-run rice wine distillery, a traditional Vietnamese country house, and a rural family temple with stories to tell.

Enjoy a home-cooked lunch and return by boat

On the morning tour, enjoy a homemade lunch at a local family home, with a choice of fish, meat, or vegetarian dishes. At the end of the tour, ride a boat along the Thu Bon River delta for about 40 to 45 minutes back to Hoi An.
