This guided tour takes you deep beneath Paris into the Catacombs with a professional English-speaking guide. Entry numbers are limited and queues are often long, but with timed priority entry you skip the line and go straight in. Hear the history and legends of the Catacombs, a former limestone quarry that became the resting place of more than 6 million people, and enjoy special access to restricted areas that are closed to regular visitors. Choose between a small-group tour of up to 15 people or a semi-private tour of up to 7.
Only 200 people can be inside the Catacombs at a time, so queues get long and waits of up to 2 hours are possible. This tour includes the booking fee and timed entry, so you go straight in with your guide without queuing. The tour lasts about 2 hours.
Nearly 300 km of tunnels and narrow passages stretch beneath the streets of Paris. They were originally limestone quarries dug to build the city's bridges and buildings, and from the 18th century they became the final resting place of more than 6 million people. Walk among the bones and skulls neatly stacked along the walls and arches while your expert guide shares the history and legends of the Catacombs.
On this tour you get special access to restricted areas that regular visitors cannot enter. As the inscription above the entrance, "Stop! This is the empire of death", suggests, you will discover a completely different side of Paris hidden beneath the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre. The tour ends at the Catacombs exit (36 Rue Rémy Dumoncel).
