This small group day tour picks you up in Abisko and nearby hotels to visit the ICEHOTEL in Jukkasjärvi and the Nutti Sámi Siida museum. It runs in English and is limited to 8 guests.

Over about 7 hours 30 minutes you use your ICEHOTEL and museum admission, visit Jukkasjärvi Church and hand-feed reindeer.

Take your time at the ICEHOTEL

From Abisko you ride a minibus for about 1 hour 30 minutes along an Arctic road through forests, rivers and open northern scenery. You may spot elk or reindeer on the way.

In Jukkasjärvi, you explore the ICEHOTEL at your own pace on a self-guided visit of about 2 hours. You can see ice rooms, hand-carved decorations, the famous ice bar and the setting beside the frozen Torne River.

Visit Jukkasjärvi Church and the Sami museum

Jukkasjärvi Church is a red wooden church dating back to the early 1600s and one of the oldest wooden churches in Sweden. You visit for about 30 minutes.

Next, a guide takes you around the Nutti Sámi Siida museum for about 45 minutes. It introduces Sami heritage, traditions and daily life, and you can feed reindeer by hand.

Return through Kiruna after lunch

You have about 1 hour for lunch in Jukkasjärvi. Choose between the Swedish buffet at the ICEHOTEL and a local-style meal in a lavvu (Sami tent), or bring your own lunch. Lunch is not included.

On the way back you pass through Kiruna and see how parts of the city are being relocated because of mine expansion. If you are changing accommodation you can get off in the Kiruna area, or at Kiruna Airport if you are heading home.
