BESTIt's a great space for healing!
Located in Skytree,
Sumida Aquarium
Tokyo Sumida Aquarium is an artificial seawater aquarium located on the 5th and 6th floors of Skytree, one of Tokyo's landmarks. You can observe the unique behind-the-scenes scenes of the aquarium as well as the lively interactions between zookeepers and marine animals.
Don't miss the opportunity to experience the vivid underwater world of the Ogasawara Islands, a World Natural Heritage Site, at Sumida Aquarium!
A perfect concept beyond an exhibition,
Tokyo Sumida Aquarium
Explore Japan's oceans at the Sumida Aquarium, located on the 5th and 6th floors of Tokyo Skytree. This is Japan's second artificial seawater aquarium, following the Kyoto Aquarium. Artificial seawater aquariums have the advantage of reducing carbon dioxide emissions generated when transporting seawater from the ocean to the inland, and maintaining clean water quality all year round, making them eco-friendly and providing a more pleasant environment for marine life.
There are also many things to see inside. In particular, it is an amazing aquarium with beautiful displays of marine life, as if they were exhibitions.
Full of sparkling sights
Sumida Aquarium divided into 8 zones
Sumida Aquarium, an urban aquarium located on the 5th and 6th floors of Tokyo Skytree Town, is divided into 8 areas. Popular attractions include the Tokyo Grand Aquarium, which recreates the Ogasawara Sea, a World Natural Heritage site, and the penguins and seals that can be seen up close in Japan's largest indoor open tank.
Another popular spot is the 'Jellyfish Kaleidoscope Tunnel', a space with a 50m long slope and about 5,000 mirrors attached to the walls and ceiling, creating a fantastical atmosphere when the space is illuminated with blue lights.
<A special Edo-rium, a collaboration of Ukiyo-e and creatures!>
At the 'Edoraium', which opened in April 2015, you can enjoy unique exhibitions themed on 'sophistication' and 'elegance', such as a collaboration exhibition of Katsushika Hokusai's Ukiyo-e paintings and Edo-style creatures, and goldfish that were widely popular among the common people during the Edo period. In addition, there are well-equipped planning and experience programs, so you will never get bored and can enjoy yourself.
