The charm of the Osaka Museum of Housing and Living is that you can experience Osaka in the past with all five senses. On the 9th floor of the museum, the streetscape of Osaka during the Edo period has been restored to its original size. You can stroll around and appreciate Osaka's shopping streets and towns. You can also experience wearing a kimono.

It doesn't end with just touring the town. You can hear the sounds you would have heard if you had lived in Osaka in the past. You can hear the voices of goldfish vendors, the sound of rain, and the sounds of dogs and birds. On the 8th floor, Osaka's towns, houses, and lifestyles from the Meiji, Taisho, and Showa periods are on display.
