Do you know Yayoi Kusama?
The editor personally believes that many people visit to see the collection of Yayoi Kusama. Yayoi Kusama (1929) is a Japanese sculptor and installation artist who is one of the most important and influential Asian artists in the history of modern art . Yayoi Kusama is known for her prolific and groundbreaking work ranging from paintings, sculptures, performances, moving images, and large-scale installations.
Rooted in traditional Japanese painting, she moved to the United States in 1957 and soon established herself in the American and European avant-gardes with her unique and radical artistic language. She returned to Japan in 1973 and has been boldly recreating art that resonates with the times she lives in. The artist, who suffered from obsessive-compulsive disorder since childhood, sublimates trauma into art, which is representative of her works.
Pumpkin can be watched for free?
There is also the most famous spotted pumpkin among Yayoi Kusama's works. It is said that a pumpkin was recently sold in Korea for 5.4 billion won. Come see the world of the works of Yayoi Kusama, a famous artist who will be joining hands with Louis Vuitton again in 2023.
The current exhibition Dots Obsession—Aspiring to Heaven's Love features artist Yayoi Kusama's signature polka dots and mirrored reflections. Large balloons covered in white polka dots hang from the ceiling. As visitors move deeper into the space, they encounter mirrored cubic environments that create a kaleidoscopic experience. The work is a new interpretation of Kusama's signature mirrored spaces and events from the 1960s. It offers a new dimension to understanding the artist's core concepts of infinity and accumulation. Experience the perceptual experience of repeated dots and the illusion of infinite space.

The Power of Transformation:
Madame Song
How did Song Huai-Kuei, better known as Madame Song, become a cultural icon and notable fashion influencer of her time? At a time when most people were adhering to austerity measures, Madame Song introduced Pierre Cardin’s vibrant clothes and modern urban lifestyles to Beijing. She was at the center of a thriving cultural community, fostering forward-looking exchanges between China and the world in art, music, film, fashion and pop culture.
In this M+ special exhibition opening talk, hear about Madame Song’s life and how she played a pivotal role in shaping China’s visual culture.
