Okinawa Chatan Surfing Lesson

Surf Together, From Kids to Adults!

Enjoy surfing with everyone from young children to adults in the waters of Okinawa Chatan! You can choose a surfing lesson option that suits your individual level, making it easy and convenient to learn how to surf. The surfing session takes place near American Village, and pick-up is available in the Chatan area.


Available Options

1. Surfing Experience Course (Beginner)
Perfect for beginners who have been interested in surfing but haven't had the chance to try it.

2. Family Surfing Class (Beginner Friendly)
Children aged 3 and older who enjoy playing in the water can participate. You can ride the surfboard with an experienced instructor while wearing a life jacket, so you can enjoy it safely and with peace of mind. How about a surfing experience with the whole family?

3. Advanced Surfing (Experienced)
Recommended for experienced surfers who want to improve their skills or those who are not yet confident in surfing alone! Feel the Okinawan waves with your whole body and enjoy surfing.


Surfing Session Procedure

1. After being picked up in the American Village area or gathering at Surfside Service Haisai, board the vehicle and move to the surfing point.
2. Practice paddling in shallow water with land training.
3. Go into the sea to ride the waves and experience surfing under the guidance of an instructor.
4. Board the vehicle and move back to the office, then shower and change clothes before being dismissed individually.

*The total time required is approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes, and the surfing experience time is approximately 1 hour - 1 hour 30 minutes.


Professional Instructors

The course instructors are certified by the International Surfing Association (ISA) and the Japan Surfing Federation (NSA), so they have expertise and extensive experience. Therefore, even beginners who cannot swim can enjoy surfing safely under the guidance of the instructors without worrying.

Family surfing classes provide lessons tailored to the level of children and adults, and customized lessons are provided to experienced surfers to improve their surfing skills.
