Enjoy a relaxing time in this beautiful place all year round.
Walking in the garden, appreciating works of art,
two experiences
This plan includes Keishuen Garden, Yoko Art Museum, ceramic accessories experience, and matcha tea experience all in one trip. You can relax and heal while enjoying the unique atmosphere of Japan.
Let me introduce you to the charms of two experiences: Keishuen and the art museum!
Japanese Garden Keishuen
Keishuen is a Kazumi circuit-style Japanese garden. Keizumi Circuit Garden is one of the types of Japanese gardens, and is a type of garden where you can take a walk around the pond and the path surrounding it. So, it is a really nice garden to take a walk while breathing in the outside air and looking at the scenery.
A waterfall reminiscent of the Middle Ages and green tea fields are impressively arranged to create a beautiful backdrop. Each season has a different charm, so you can visit any time.
Learning aesthetics at the Yoko Art Museum
The Yoko Art Museum is an art museum that exhibits ceramics. You can admire beautiful pottery. Representative exhibits include a blue-and-white fish-patterned jar, a peach-and-flower Hongwanyin bottle, and a white porcelain dragon boat. You can get a glimpse of the beautiful aesthetics of ceramics at the Yoko Art Museum. You can also enjoy exhibition content that changes depending on the time of year.
According to my taste! pottery accessories
Let's make your own original accessories using ceramics from popular artists of Hizen Ceramics in Saga Prefecture, the home of ceramics. Among the colorful pieces, you can make accessories with ones that suit your taste. You can freely choose the shape, size, color, and pattern to your liking. Brooches, earrings, earrings, rings, hairpins, and even hair ties! It’s more unique because you can make a variety of accessories.
Make unique accessories using Yakimono pottery with your own hands. Accessories that cannot be purchased anywhere are great as souvenirs or gifts for loved ones.
Arita porcelain, Arita ware
Arita ware refers to pottery manufactured in Arita village and the surrounding areas of Saga Prefecture. As Japan's first ceramic production center, it has continued to produce products, mainly tableware and crafts, for 400 years. What makes it special is that it features transparent white porcelain, dyed with cobalt tones, and gorgeous red painted porcelain.
It is highly durable and produces many items ranging from art pieces to daily necessities. However, the price is by no means cheap. So, I recommend an accessory making experience where you can make accessories out of pottery fragments and take them home.
Relax with a cup of matcha, Mifune Tea House
Mifune Teahouse is a resting place in Keishuen. It’s a Japanese-style teahouse that goes well with the atmosphere of Keishuen. The veranda and counter made of pine are attractive. The prices of the drinks sold here are not burdensome, and you can taste Japanese sweets and experience matcha. The matcha here is made using ceramic vessels made in Saga.
