Tondaya, a registered National Tangible Cultural Property, is a traditional house characterized by a narrow entrance and a long interior. Through a guided tour of the building, you will learn about customs, lifestyles, and culture, and you will get to know 'Real Kyoto'.

One thing to note is that you must bring socks to protect cultural assets! Please don't forget.

100% Silk Kimono

Tondaya started as a kimono wholesale company that the Tanaka family has been running for generations. Therefore, all the kimonos handled here are silk kimonos handmade by artisans in the Nishijin area, which is clearly different from the polyester kimonos commonly worn in tourist destinations!

Wear a luxurious silk kimono and take photos freely in the garden, tatami room, etc., and record today.

Full-fledged Tea Ceremony Experience in a Tatami Room

During the tea ceremony, you can learn how to enjoy tea and traditional sweets while listening to the tea master's explanation. If you choose the luxury plan, you can enjoy a more special time in the small tea room built by the founder.

- Kimono experience: Upgraded luxury kimono compared to the basic plan
- Tea ceremony: Conducted in the tatami room (Rakushu) built by the founder (up to 5 people)
