Learning something special,
Japanese tea ceremony experience
Experience a special tea ceremony experience with your English-speaking host, a certified tea master from Urasenke, Japan's largest tea ceremony school, while sitting on tatami, a traditional Japanese floor mat.
You will have the opportunity to make your own tea while your host observes the process of making matcha, powdered green tea, and explains the history and spiritual role of the tea ceremony, as well as how each method of making affects the taste of the tea. Afterwards, you will taste traditional Japanese sweets.
After the tea ceremony, you will be able to take photos of examples of kimono and beautiful fabrics made in the Nishijin area of Kyoto. If you would like to wear a kimono during your experience, you can select it as an additional option when making your reservation to have photos taken to commemorate your experience!
