Japan's representative plum blossom festival
Kairakuen, one of Japan's three great gardens, is famous for its annual plum blossom festival (梅まつり). The festival is held around February to March, when winter is transitioning into spring, and when the festival is held, Kairakuen Garden is filled with 3,000 plum trees in full bloom, creating a landscape of colorful plum blossoms.
