Experience Nikko in a Day, from Toshogu Shrine to Kegon Falls
Depart from Tokyo and travel approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes by bus to Nikko, Tochigi Prefecture. Your first stop will be the Shinkyo Bridge, a symbol of Nikko. Afterward, explore the UNESCO World Heritage site of Nikko Toshogu Shrine with your guide.
Next, you'll travel along the mountain road, Irohazaka, to admire Kegon Falls, Nikko's representative natural attraction. Enjoy a free lunch before visiting Lake Chuzenji for its beautiful scenery, and then return to Tokyo.
Japanese History at Shinkyo Bridge & Nikko Toshogu Shrine

Begin your Nikko journey at the Shinkyo Bridge, a striking red arched bridge spanning the Daiya River. The vibrant red bridge against the lush natural surroundings creates a quintessential Nikko landscape. Next, visit Nikko Toshogu Shrine, dedicated to Tokugawa Ieyasu, the founder of the Edo Shogunate. Admire the ornate and intricate architecture while your guide shares stories and legends about Tokugawa Ieyasu, the Edo period, and the shrine's various features.
The Great Nature of Kegon Falls & Lake Chuzenji

After navigating the famous 48 hairpin turns of Irohazaka, you'll arrive at Kegon Falls. Cascading from a height of approximately 100 meters, Kegon Falls is Nikko's premier natural attraction, offering a spectacular view, especially with the surrounding mountains.
Enjoy lunch at your leisure. You can try Nikko's signature Yuba (tofu skin) dishes, soba noodles, or various other local specialties. Feel free to ask your guide for restaurant recommendations. Afterward, make a brief stop at Lake Chuzenji, where mountains and water create a picturesque scene, before boarding the bus back to Tokyo.
