Take a bus from Tokyo to explore
Mt. Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi in one day
Meet at Bus Terminal Tokyo Yaesu at 7:40 AM and depart at 7:50 AM. The bus takes about 2 hours 30 minutes to reach the Mt. Fuji area, and an English-speaking guide accompanies you all day. Bring your smartphone and earphones to hear the guide's commentary in your preferred language via real-time translation.
Walk through Oshino Hakkai village
This traditional village is famous for its clear spring ponds fed by Mt. Fuji's snowmelt. Stroll the thatched-roof streets, browse local shops and traditional snacks, and photograph Mt. Fuji beyond the village (about 55 minutes).
Have lunch and enjoy free time at Lake Kawaguchi
Buffet and café lunch options eat near Fuji-Q Highland (Highland Resort Hotel & Spa) and then take a taxi to Lake Kawaguchi. Vegan and halal lunch options meet staff at Kawaguchiko Station and go to the restaurant together. Guests on the no-lunch option eat on their own.
At Lake Kawaguchi you have about 2 hours to explore freely. Stop by the Lawson convenience store with Mt. Fuji beyond the lake or try the local soft-serve ice cream. Options with the cruise ride the Lake Kawaguchi sightseeing boat, passing under the Kawaguchiko Ohashi Bridge and around Unoshima, the island in the lake (about 20 minutes).
End the day at the Mt. Fuji World Heritage Centre
Interactive exhibits show the cultural and natural significance of Mt. Fuji, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site (about 25 minutes). Then return to Bus Terminal Tokyo Yaesu by bus in about 2 hours 30 minutes.
