Begin your experience at Sin Hong Choon, a space restored from what was once a large tea factory in Taipei. First, a tea expert will demonstrate the traditional Taiwanese tea brewing method. You'll learn step-by-step about the right water temperature, the amount of tea leaves, brewing time, and the sequence of pouring the tea.

After the demonstration, it's your turn to brew tea. You'll learn naturally how to prepare the tea from start to finish, the method of pouring and serving it, and the traditional etiquette observed when drinking tea together.

Next, enjoy a comparative tasting of four representative Taiwanese teas: Wenshan Baozhong, Alishan Oolong, Tieguanyin, and Oriental Beauty. Compare their origins, differences based on oxidation levels, aromas, body, and aftertaste, guided by explanations from your host. Traditional snacks that pair well with tea will also be provided.

Enjoy a Tea Sommelier Game and Traditional Costume Experience

Once you've thoroughly experienced the four teas, it's time to test your palate. Individually take on the Tea Sommelier Game, recalling the characteristics of the aromas and flavors you've learned.

You can also take a tour of Sin Hong Choon's historic space with an English-speaking guide. Explore the remnants of the 1934 tea factory, the wooden interior, and the courtyards, learning about the history of Dadaocheng and Taiwan's tea industry.
