Meet in Queenstown and
travel to Skippers Canyon
Meet at Morning Star Reserve in Arthurs Point, then take a bus to Skippers Canyon and the Shotover River. On the way, you pass through the rugged, pristine nature of hard-to-reach Skippers Canyon.
Suit up and get a safety briefing
At the river, put on your wetsuit and learn about the rafting equipment from your guide. After the safety briefing, get in the water and start your rafting adventure.
Run six rapids and the Oxenbridge Tunnel
Raft down the Shotover River through six Grade 4–5 rapids. After Aftershock, Squeeze, Toilet and Pinball rapids, enter the darkness of the 170 m-long Oxenbridge Tunnel. A professional photography service is provided during the trip.
Swim and relax in the calm stretches
Between the rapids, enjoy the still water and the natural beauty of the canyon. Cool off with a swim in the river or relax in the sun. Finish your rafting adventure on the challenging Cascade rapid before returning to the base camp in Queenstown.
