the Amalfi Coast and Pompeii in one day
After an early-morning pickup in Rome, stop for an Italian breakfast at a local restaurant (about 30 minutes). Then drive about 2.5 hours along a scenic route to Amalfi. Travel is by air-conditioned van, SUV or car, such as Mercedes-Benz or Audi models.
Spend free time in Amalfi
When you arrive in Amalfi in the late morning, you will be shown places to swim, shop and have lunch, and where to catch a boat to nearby villages such as Positano. Explore the coastal town freely for more than 3 hours until departing for Pompeii in mid-afternoon. Lunch is not included, so you will buy your own.
Walk through Pompeii with an official guide
Drive about 1 hour from Amalfi to arrive in Pompeii in the late afternoon. Enter the site with a priority ticket and explore it with an official guide for 2 to 2.5 hours. Learn how the eruption of Mount Vesuvius, visible in the background, preserved the city, and how the ancient Romans lived.
Return to Rome after the tour
After the Pompeii tour, drive about 2 hours 15 minutes back to the drop-off point in Rome. The whole trip takes 13 to 14 hours.
