Leave Rome and head
to Pompeii and Sorrento
Depart early in the morning from Piazza del Popolo in Rome on an air-conditioned bus heading south. You stop briefly in Cassino on the way, and a licensed English/Spanish tour leader accompanies you all day.
Walk the ruins of Pompeii with a guide
Pompeii, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was buried under ash and pumice by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79. An expert guide leads you to key sites such as the Forum, amphitheater, baths, Greek theater and villas with frescoes, explaining daily life in ancient Rome. Headsets are provided so you can hear the guide clearly.
Enjoy a traditional Italian lunch in Pompeii
If you choose an option with lunch, enjoy traditional Italian dishes made with fresh local ingredients at a local restaurant after exploring Pompeii. Options without lunch do not include the cost of a meal.
Taste limoncello and enjoy sea views in Sorrento
In the afternoon, travel to Sorrento, famous for its coastal views and lemon groves, and taste limoncello. Then spend about 1 hour of free time strolling the picturesque streets and shopping before returning by bus to Piazza del Popolo in Rome.
