Your day begins when your English-speaking private driver picks you up at your chosen location in Tokyo or Nagano. The driver provides route guidance and basic assistance.

Enjoy mountain views and countryside scenery along the way. The drive from Tokyo to the Nagano area usually takes about 3.5 to 4 hours each way, so it is a long journey.

Meet the monkeys bathing in the hot springs of Jigokudani

The highlight of the tour is your visit to Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park. After a walk of about 60 minutes along a forest trail, you can watch wild Japanese macaques soaking and resting in natural hot springs. You spend about 2 hours at the park, and the entrance fee is not included and must be paid on site.

Add one more stop if time allows
and get dropped off where you like

Depending on traffic, time and pace, you may add one more stop. Choose from Zenko-ji, one of Japan’s most important historic temples; Shibu Onsen, a traditional hot spring town with narrow streets and historic bathhouses; or Obuse, a small town known for local sweets, art and an Edo-period atmosphere.

Additional stops are optional and not guaranteed. Your driver helps you prioritize stops based on your preferences and the time available. Lunch is not included, but the driver can suggest local restaurants on request. After your visits, relax on the way back and get dropped off at your original pickup point or a preferred drop-off location.
