Shinkyo Bridge and Nikko Toshogu

Take photos at Shinkyo, the wooden bridge spanning the Daiya River (about 30 minutes), then visit the Nikko Toshogu Museum (about 30 minutes) and Nikko Toshogu (about 30 minutes). Toshogu enshrines Tokugawa Ieyasu, founder of the Edo shogunate, and features the intricately carved, colorful Yomeimon Gate and the famous Sleeping Cat carving. Next, visit Nikko Futarasan Shrine in the forest (about 30 minutes) with your guide.

Enjoy Nikko’s nature at Lake Chuzenji
and the Akechidaira Ropeway

Stroll along Lake Chuzenji (about 1.5 hours), a highland lake formed by volcanic activity at the foot of Mt. Nantai. Ride the Akechidaira Ropeway (about 45 minutes) up to the observation deck for panoramic views of Mt. Nantai, Lake Chuzenji and Kegon Falls in Nikko National Park, with some free time.

See Kegon Falls and Kanmangafuchi
before returning to Tokyo

Spend free time at Kegon Falls (about 1 hour), which plunges about 97 m into a rocky gorge, viewed from the observation deck. Enjoy the scenery of Ryuzu Falls and walk the Kanmangafuchi Abyss path (about 30 minutes), lined with more than 70 Jizo statues. At the end of the tour, return to Tokyo by private vehicle in about 2 hours.
