Highlights

Program
Depart Sapporo and
head to Snow World Toya
Meet at Exit 31 of Odori Station at 8:30 AM and depart by bus. After about 2.5 hours you arrive at the first stop, Snow World Toya.
You will spend about 1.5 hours here taking photos and looking around. If you wish, you can ride a snowmobile across the snowy winter landscape (optional, fee at your own expense).
Look down on the winter lake
from the Lake Toya observatory
A 30-minute bus ride takes you to the shore of Lake Toya for a short photo stop (about 10 minutes), followed by about 20 minutes at Silo Observatory to enjoy panoramic views of Lake Toya surrounded by mountains.
Stroll along the lakeshore
in Lake Toya Onsen town
Move on to Lake Toya Onsen town and look around the Onsen 100th Anniversary Monument (about 40 minutes) and the Eight Views of Lake Toya area (about 20 minutes). Depending on conditions, you can stroll along the lake or enjoy local facilities and soak up the winter atmosphere of the hot spring town.
See the ice sculptures and illumination
at the Lake Shikotsu Ice Festival
After about an hour by bus, arrive at the Lake Shikotsu Ice Festival. Spend about 1.5 hours exploring magnificent ice sculptures made from the clean, clear water of Lake Shikotsu (admission at your own expense).
When the winter illumination starts at 4:30 PM, the venue takes on a whole new atmosphere. Afterwards, the bus takes about an hour to return to Sapporo, where the tour ends.
