Tours & activities worldwide.
This day tour from Sapporo takes you by coach through the volcanic landscapes, lakes and coastal scenery of southern Hokkaido. Walk through Noboribetsu Hell Valley with its steam vents and sulfur streams, and look out over the Pacific Ocean from the cliffs of Cape Chikyu in Muroran. You will also stop at the Silo Observatory, Lake Toya and Lake Shikotsu, and, depending on your option, visit the Toyako Onsen area or Mt. Usu and Showa-Shinzan. A guide leads the tour in English, Chinese and Japanese.

Depart Sapporo and
walk through Noboribetsu Hell Valley
Meet your guide at your selected meeting point (Sapporo TV Tower or Sapporo Tokyu REI Hotel) and board the coach. After about 95 minutes, arrive in Noboribetsu and follow the walking paths through a volcanic valley of steam vents, bubbling pools and sulfur streams (about 35 minutes).
Overlook the sea and lake from Cape Chikyu and the Silo Observatory

At Cape Chikyu in Muroran, take in views of the Pacific Ocean and Hokkaido's rugged coastline from the clifftop (about 25 minutes). On clear days, the horizon stretches endlessly.
Next, stop at the Silo Observatory in Shikotsu-Toya National Park for panoramic views of Lake Toya, Mt. Usu, Mt. Yotei and the surrounding mountains (about 25 minutes).
Enjoy lunch and free time at Lake Toya

At Lake Toya, you have about 70 minutes of free time for lunch and a lakeside walk. Depending on your option, Course A visits the Toyako Onsen area, while Course B visits Mt. Usu and Showa-Shinzan, a volcano that rose in 1944. The ropeway and bear ranch at Showa-Shinzan are not included.
Stop at Lake Shikotsu and return to Sapporo

Finally, visit Lake Shikotsu, a clear blue caldera lake surrounded by mountains (about 35 minutes). Afterwards, return to Sapporo by coach; drop-off locations depend on your selected option.
