Highlights

Depart Sapporo Station and explore
Hokkaido's west coast in one day
This shared bus tour of about 10 hours departs at 8:40 AM from the group bus area at the North Exit of Sapporo Station. With an experienced driver-guide, you visit Otaru, Yoichi and the Shakotan Peninsula in turn and return to Sapporo Station around 6:30 PM. Depending on the group size on the day, a Toyota HiAce or similar vehicle (1–13 people) or a minibus or coach (14–45 people) is used.
Explore Otaru Canal and Sakaimachi Street at your own pace
Arrive at Otaru Canal around 9:30 AM and spend 20 minutes taking in the red-brick warehouses and gas lamps. Then enjoy 2 hours of free time around Kitaichi Glass and Sakaimachi Street for lunch, shopping or a visit to the Music Box Museum. Lunch is at your own expense.
Visit Yoichi Distillery, the birthplace of Japanese whisky
Arrive at the Nikka Whisky Yoichi Distillery around noon and stay for about 45 minutes. Known as the birthplace of Japanese whisky, here you can see traditional distillation methods and enjoy an optional tasting.
Admire Shakotan Blue at Cape Kamui and Shimamui Coast
Arrive at Cape Kamui around 2:15 PM and stay for about 1 hour. It takes about 20 minutes on foot to reach the tip, where you can see dramatic cliffs and the blue sea known as Shakotan Blue.
Next, at Shimamui Coast, one of Japan's 100 best beaches, pass through a short tunnel to the viewpoint and enjoy the scenery for 20 minutes. Then take in the panoramic sea views at Cape Ogon for 40 minutes before returning to Sapporo.
