Highlights

Depart from Sapporo Station North Exit and explore
Otaru and the Shakotan Peninsula in one day
This approximately 10-hour tour departs by bus from the North Exit of Sapporo Station, visits Otaru, Yoichi and the Shakotan Peninsula in turn, and returns to the North Exit of Sapporo Station. At each stop you have guided commentary along with time for photos, walks and free time.
Stroll along Otaru Canal and Sakaimachi Street
After about 45 minutes by bus, arrive in Otaru and soak up the port-town atmosphere along the canal lined with red-brick warehouses. On Sakaimachi Street, enjoy about 2 hours of free time for lunch, shopping and strolling.
Learn about Japanese whisky at Yoichi Distillery
A 40-minute bus ride takes you to the Nikka Whisky Yoichi Distillery. Spend about 45 minutes learning about the history of Japanese whisky and traditional distilling culture, with time for shopping and whisky tasting. Paid tour areas of the distillery are not included.
Admire Shakotan Blue at Cape Kamui and Shimamui Coast
In the afternoon, head to the Shakotan Peninsula and spend about 1 hour at Cape Kamui enjoying panoramic views of the sea and cliffs. Then explore the coastal scenery at Shimamui Coast for 20 minutes and spend about 40 minutes walking and taking photos at Cape Ogon before returning to Sapporo.
