Fukuoka Nanzoin Reclining Buddha Private Guided Tour

Walk the temple grounds with your guide
from the entrance to the main hall

Depending on your option, meet your guide in front of the ticket office at JR Kidonanzoin-mae Station or in front of the information center at JR Hakata Station. With the Hakata Station option, you travel with your guide by train for about 25 minutes. At Nanzoin, spend about 1.5 hours walking the grounds with your guide from the entrance to the main hall, enjoying the view from the main hall and the peaceful atmosphere.

Next, head to the reclining Buddha (Nehanzo), the symbol of Nanzoin. Take a close look at the intricate details, take memorable photos, and you can even look around inside the statue. Admission to the reclining Buddha is included.

Pass the Fudo Myoo statue, Okunoin
and the temple waterfall

The tour continues past several sacred spots on the grounds, including the Fudo Myoo statue, Okunoin and a nearby waterfall. On the way back, pass the Mizuko Jizo statues erected to protect children to finish the tour, then return by train to the station where you started, depending on your option.
