Highlights

This is an introductory boat scuba diving experience with a professional instructor in the clear waters of Miyakojima. Explore coral reefs in shallow water and meet tropical fish such as clownfish, butterflyfish, surgeonfish and triggerfish, and you may even encounter larger marine life like sea turtles and sharks. Admire unique underwater terrain such as the Blue Cave, arches and crevices, with soft blue light filtering through. Even if you are not a confident swimmer, a dedicated instructor stays with you from entry to exit.

Program

Head out by boat
for a discover dive with your instructor

Meet on the south side of the Miyakojima Fisheries Cooperative building and head out to the dive spot by boat. Enjoy the number of beginner boat dives you booked (1, 2 or 3), with a dedicated instructor guiding you from entry to exit and helping you practice skills underwater.

Meet tropical fish and coral reefs in shallow water

Explore coral reefs in shallow water and meet tropical fish such as clownfish, butterflyfish, surgeonfish and triggerfish. You may also see larger marine life such as sea turtles and sharks, and manta rays in winter.

Explore underwater terrain like the Blue Cave and arches

Explore unique underwater terrain such as the Blue Cave, arches and crevices. Watch soft blue light filter through the water to create curtains of light. Underwater photos are included.

The schedule depends on the number of dives

The 3-dive course includes lunch. The 1- and 2-dive courses do not include lunch, as you may return to port in the morning depending on bookings; if the tour runs all day, please bring your own lunch. The exact schedule will be shared the day before, and the tour ends back at the meeting point.
