Enjoy the gorge by Dragon Escalator
and lake cruise

At Longqing Gorge, ride the dragon-shaped escalator up, then cruise along the lake to take in the scenery. You also explore a temple and an island with your guide.

When the cable car is running, ride it up to the Taoist temple on the mountain, hear its stories and history, and enjoy the views. Weather at the gorge differs greatly from the city and the cable car may close; in that case, you can hike the mountain with your guide or visit nearby sights such as the Ming Tombs or the Juyongguan Great Wall instead.

After lunch, visit the Badaling Great Wall
or the Guyaju cave dwellings

After lunch at a local restaurant, the day continues according to your option. With the Badaling option, ride the cable car up Badaling, one of the best-preserved sections of the Great Wall, as your guide shares its history. With the Guyaju option, explore the Guyaju caves, a complex of more than 170 dwellings carved directly into the rock face. You then return to your hotel.
