Highlights

This is an advance admission ticket for Osaka Castle Illuminage 2026, a winter illumination event held at Osaka Castle Nishinomaru Garden. This year's exhibition, "Shogun: A story in lights," uses light to express the grand ambition Toyotomi Hideyoshi held for unifying Japan, depicting Japanese history, culture and aesthetics in a fantastical space. With Osaka Castle Main Tower as the backdrop, you can follow the shimmering lights through the story and enjoy the atmosphere unique to Osaka Castle, where history and the present meet. You can also choose a priority ticket that lets you enter through a dedicated lane even when it is crowded.

"Shogun: A story in lights" is an exhibition that tells the story of Toyotomi Hideyoshi's unification of Japan through illuminations. The venue, Nishinomaru Garden, turns into the illumination venue after the garden's regular hours end.

Open every evening throughout the event

The event runs from Friday, November 20, 2026 to Sunday, February 14, 2027. The venue is open 17:00–22:00, and the lights are on 17:00–21:30. It is open every day during the event period and goes ahead rain or shine.

Choose a standard ticket or a priority ticket

You can choose between a standard admission ticket and a priority ticket that includes admission. With the priority ticket, you can enter first through the express lane even when it is crowded. Adults are junior high school students and older; children are ages 1 through elementary school.

The entrance is near Otemon Gate of Osaka Castle. It is about a 10-minute walk from Exit 1-B of Tanimachi 4-chome Station on the Osaka Metro Tanimachi Line, about an 11-minute walk from Temmabashi Station on the Tanimachi Line, and about a 16-minute walk from JR Morinomiya Station. There is no dedicated parking and nearby parking is limited, so public transportation is recommended.
