Program
Explore Zhangjiajie's mountains and canyon
without worrying about tickets or cable cars
Day 1 covers Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, and Day 2 covers the Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon and Tianmen Mountain. The 1-day option includes only the Day 1 Forest Park itinerary. Your guide and dedicated driver meet you in the hotel lobby with an air-conditioned vehicle and bring you back to your hotel after the tour. The exact pickup time is sent one day in advance.
Unlimited bottled water is provided during the tour, and a child seat is available free of charge on request. Local attraction tour insurance is also included.
Ride the Bailong Elevator and look down on Avatar Mountain
Once inside the Forest Park, ride the Bailong Elevator up the cliff face in about 88 seconds. From the glass cabin, watch countless karst peaks fall away below you. Your guide takes a shortcut to the viewpoint overlooking the Hallelujah Mountain from the movie Avatar, then you follow the cliffside trail in Yuanjiajie past natural wonders such as the Back Garden, the Enchanting Terrace and the First Bridge Under Heaven.
Next, take the park shuttle to the less crowded Yangjiajie and admire the 'Natural Great Wall', rows of pine-covered sandstone peaks. Finally, at Tianzi Mountain, gaze at the sea of clouds around the Emperor's Writing Brush Peak and the Fairy Scattering Flowers Peak, then ride the cable car down and return to your hotel.
Walk across the Grand Canyon Glass Bridge
On Day 2, travel to the Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon and head to the glass bridge first to avoid the crowds. Walk across the transparent bridge suspended about 100 stories above the canyon floor and look down into the canyon beneath your feet. There is plenty of time for photos, and you can watch daring visitors bungee jump from the bridge.
Take the cable car up to Tianmen Mountain and Tianmen Cave
In the afternoon, ride the Tianmen Mountain cable car from downtown up above the clouds. Stand before the giant Tianmen Cave, walk the glass skywalk, and use the escalators that cut through the mountain to see the highlights with ease. Your guide also shows you viewpoints known to locals. After the tour, you will be dropped off at your hotel.
