Beijing Hutong Bike or E-Bike Tour - Jingshan Park Forbidden City View & Market Tasting

Ride a bike
through Beijing's hutong alleys

Meet your local guide near Nanluoguxiang Station and hop on a classic bicycle or e-bike for a route of about 6–8 km. Leave the busy roads behind and ride slowly through centuries-old hutongs, discovering quiet courtyards and the daily life of local residents. You also pass Meishuguan Back Street.

Taste seasonal foods at a neighborhood market

Park your bike and explore Zhaojunsheng Vegetable Market, where local families shop every day. Browse stalls of seasonal produce, seafood and handmade tofu, and taste at least 3 seasonal fruits or dried foods chosen by your guide based on what is best that day (about 40 minutes).

Climb Jingshan Park and look down on the Forbidden City

Park your bike and walk about 15 minutes up to the top of Jingshan Park. From the summit, the Forbidden City spreads out below you, letting you take in its vast scale, symmetry and position on Beijing's central axis (about 1 hour, admission included).

Pass Shichahai and the Bell and Drum Towers, then finish with a drink

Ride along the willow-lined Shichahai lakeshore and pass the square between the Bell and Drum Towers, where locals play chess or kick shuttlecocks (towers viewed from outside only). Finally, enjoy a beer, coffee or tea at a hutong cafe or craft beer bar while chatting with your guide. The tour ends around Nanluoguxiang.
