The tour starts when you meet your English-speaking guide at the main gate of Tsukiji Hongwanji near Exit 1 of Tsukiji Station. After passing the temple, you head to Tsukiji Outer Market and spend about 30 minutes walking its lanes while hearing about the market's history and Japanese food culture. You will also learn why Japanese chefs come here every day to buy fresh ingredients.
Taste market food along the seafood stalls
Explore the market with your guide, where stalls selling fish, shellfish and other seafood sit alongside Japanese food shops. Taste selected foods one by one, including wagyu beef skewers, Japanese rolled omelet, fried fish cake and seasonal fruit, and enjoy other samples as you move along.
