After a little over an hour's drive, arrive in UNESCO-listed San Gimignano. More than a dozen towers built by rival medieval families still stand, earning it the nickname "Medieval Manhattan." Enjoy free time shopping for Tuscan specialties in the winding lanes or admiring the tower architecture.
Five wines and a full-course lunch at a Chianti family farm
Head to a family-run farm in Chianti to tour the vineyard, winery and wine cellar. Then enjoy a full-course lunch made with local seasonal ingredients, paired with five selected Chianti wines. Chianti is the hilly region between Florence and Siena, home of Chianti Classico wine made from Sangiovese grapes.
Siena, a well-preserved medieval city
Finally, arrive in Siena, which escaped bombing in World War II and preserves its medieval character. Your tour leader introduces Siena's history and culture and the Piazza del Campo, home of the Palio horse race, before free time. Admire the exterior of Siena Cathedral, famous for its black-and-white striped marble.
