Explore four islands of the Mekong Delta
from Ho Chi Minh City
The tour starts with hotel pickup between 7:00 and 8:00 AM, and your guide will contact you 15 minutes before pickup with the exact time. Travel by minivan or tour bus to My Tho, a city in the Mekong Delta, enjoying views of green rice fields on the way. An English-speaking guide accompanies you all day, and after the tour you return by bus to Ho Chi Minh City and get dropped off in District 1.
Visit the old Vinh Trang Pagoda
On arrival in My Tho, spend about 30 minutes touring the old Buddhist Vinh Trang Pagoda with your guide and taking photos.
Cruise around the Mekong islands by motorboat
Ride a motorboat along the Mekong River to visit Dragon, Phoenix, Turtle and Unicorn Islands. On Unicorn Island, stop by a local bee farm to taste natural honey and honey tea, then move to another part of the island to enjoy tropical fruit while listening to traditional southern Vietnamese music. You will also float down canals between orchards and small villages in a small rowing boat.
Visit a coconut candy workshop and taste banh khot
Tour the village lined with coconut trees by tuk-tuk or electric car, and explore the surroundings by bicycle or on foot. Learn how coconut candy is made at a workshop and taste banh khot (Vietnamese mini pancakes) with a local chef. Then board the motorboat again through lush canals to a local restaurant for a Vietnamese lunch.
