This roughly 11-hour tour picks you up from your Ho Chi Minh City hotel around 7 AM and drives along the Long Thanh-Dau Giay Expressway to Vung Tau. With an English-speaking guide, visit the Christ statue, Whale Temple, Back Beach, White Palace and Nghinh Phong Cape, and enjoy a seafood lunch at a local restaurant. Air-conditioned transport, entrance fees, lunch and water are included. Choose a standard group by large bus (up to 30), a small group by minibus (up to 15), a limousine small group (up to 9) or a private tour.
Climb to the Christ statue and visit the Whale Temple
Arrive in Vung Tau around 9:30 AM and climb about 800 steps to the Christ statue, one of the tallest statues in Asia, for views over the sea and town below. Next, visit the Whale Temple (Lang Ca Ong), where local fishermen worship the whale god, and learn about the beliefs and traditions rooted in Vung Tau's fishing culture.
Walk along Back Beach and enjoy a seafood lunch
Around 11 AM, stroll along the wide, palm-lined Back Beach (Bai Sau), feel the sea breeze and take photos. At noon, enjoy fresh Vietnamese seafood for lunch at a local restaurant. Vegetarian options are available on request.
Take in the sea at the White Palace and Nghinh Phong Cape
Around 1:30 PM, visit the White Palace (Bach Dinh), a French colonial mansion once used as a summer retreat, to see its European-style architecture and learn about Vietnam's past. Around 3 PM, stop at Nghinh Phong Cape, known for some of the best views in Vung Tau, and take photos at its iconic gate against the blue sea. Leave around 4:30 PM and arrive back at your hotel around 6:30 to 7:00 PM.
