This egg coffee class takes place at Cafe Minh in Hanoi's Old Quarter, just a few meters from Ta Hien Beer Street. An English-speaking teacher introduces the history and culture of Vietnamese coffee, and you prepare the ingredients, make your coffee and taste it. Classes start at 9:00 am, 10:00 am, 1:00 pm or 3:00 pm and take about 1 to 1.5 hours.

Learn three Vietnamese coffee recipes

All the coffee is strong Vietnamese Robusta brewed traditionally. Step by step, you learn to make the famous egg coffee, invented in 1946 by Nguyen Van Giang during the Indochina War when dairy was in short supply, as well as espresso-strength Hanoi-style milk coffee and slightly sweeter Saigon-style milk coffee.

Enjoy your creations after class

After class, feel free to stay on the balcony or the open front sidewalk area to enjoy and compare your creations. Traditional tea and cake tasting and a small gift are included. If you want to make coffee at home, you can buy the making materials at the cafe.
