National Museum of Nature and Science Permanent Exhibition

Located in Tokyo's Ueno Park, the National Museum of Nature and Science was established in January 1877 and is one of Japan's largest natural science museums. It sits on archaeological remains from the Jomon, Yayoi and Kofun periods and part of the former Kan'ei-ji Temple grounds, and today holds its permanent exhibitions across several buildings. With this ticket you can explore the permanent exhibitions freely on your booked date.

Walk among life-size dinosaur skeletons

In the museum's most popular dinosaur gallery, you walk among life-size dinosaur skeletons and fossils and see ancient creatures up close. Follow how Earth and life evolved, from ancient organisms to modern humans.

Evolution of life and the nature of Japan

The exhibition buildings feature themed displays on biological evolution, mammalian evolution, Japan's flora and fauna, minerals and geology, and human development. Learn about Japan's unique wildlife, nature and scientific development.

Other buildings trace the history of science and technology through measuring instruments and working tools from ancient times to the present. Many hands-on displays make science fun for children too.
