It's the first Daitokuji exhibition in Tokyo and the first in 41 years, running from October 14 to December 6, 2026. Get up close to precious treasures like the National Treasure 'Kannon Genkaku' from Mokkei and the National Treasure 'Yōhen Tenmoku' tea bowl from Ryōko-in. Experience a recreation of the Sanmon gate's interior, with its main statue and a figure of Sen no Rikyū on public display for the first time. Your ticket also grants access to the Tokyo National Museum's General Exhibition on the same day.

A special exhibition commemorating the 700th anniversary of Daitokuji Temple's founding is being held at the Tokyo National Museum's Heiseikan. See treasures passed down through Daitokuji, including the National Treasure 'Kannon Genkaku' (owned by Daitokuji) and the National Treasure 'Yōhen Tenmoku' tea bowl (owned by Ryōko-in), all in one place.

The exhibition features a recreation of the Sanmon gate's interior, usually inaccessible to the public. Hasegawa Tōhaku's ceiling paintings remain vividly preserved, and the Sanmon's main statue and a figure of Sen no Rikyū are being displayed for the first time.
With your Daitokuji exhibition ticket, you can also visit the Tokyo National Museum's General Exhibition on the same day of your visit. Please note that on November 30, only the Daitokuji exhibition will be open, and the General Exhibition will be closed.
※ Some artworks will be rotated during the exhibition period.
※ Crowding is expected on weekends, public holidays, and during the latter half of the exhibition. You may experience waiting times during peak hours.
