Enter Sanjay Gandhi National Park and travel for about 20 minutes enjoying the park scenery, then spend about 2 hours 30 minutes exploring the Kanheri Caves. Dating back to the 1st century BC, these caves were carved out of solid basalt and still feature chaityas (prayer halls), viharas (monasteries), intricate sculptures and ancient inscriptions.
Your guide explains the history and significance of each cave, helping you better understand the influence of Buddhism in the region.
Visit the Global Vipassana Pagoda (6-hour option)
With the "Kanheri Caves & Pagoda Tour" option, travel by car and ferry to the Global Vipassana Pagoda with its striking golden dome and explore it for about 2 hours. See the meditation hall inside the pagoda and hear from your guide about Vipassana meditation and Buddhist practices. Around the pagoda, you can also enjoy views toward the Arabian Sea.
Start with pickup or at the meeting point, depending on your option
With the pickup options, meet your guide in your Mumbai hotel lobby and travel in an air-conditioned vehicle.
