This English-guided tour takes you by minibus from Paris to the village of Giverny, where Impressionist painter Claude Monet spent the last 40 years of his life. Tour the interior of the house where Monet lived and painted with his family, and stroll through the flower garden and Japanese water garden he tended throughout his life. At the pond full of water lilies, you can see the scenery that inspired more than 250 of his paintings. You enter the gardens with small-group entry, and at the end you also stop at the village cemetery where Monet rests.
Meet in front of La Flamme café on Avenue de Wagram near the Arc de Triomphe and travel to Giverny by minibus for about 1 hour. Giverny is a small village in the Seine valley; after Monet moved here in 1883, its gardens and scenery became the main subjects of his paintings.
Spend about 110 minutes exploring the two gardens Monet designed and refined throughout his life. Admire more than 100 varieties of flowers and intertwining foliage in the flower garden, then walk along the water lily pond in the Japanese garden and feel why Monet made it the setting for more than 250 paintings.
Spend about 20 minutes touring the rooms where the painter lived with his family in Monet's house, managed by the Fondation Claude Monet. Then visit the simple village cemetery where Monet is buried for about 15 minutes before returning to the meeting point by minibus, about 1 hour.
※ The tour runs rain or shine.
※ Entry to Monet's house is not skip-the-line, so you may have to wait depending on conditions.
