in the historic hangars of Ford Island
The Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum stands on Ford Island in the middle of the harbor, inside hangars that were there on the morning of December 7, 1941. Explore the aircraft in Hangars 37 and 79

Hangar 37 tells the story of the December 7th attack through aircraft that were present or of the period, including a Japanese A6M2 Zero, a P-40 Warhawk, and a Stearman trainer in which a civilian flight lesson was interrupted by the first wave.
Hangar 79 still has its original blue glass panes, shattered by strafing fire, and holds MiGs, an F-15, and helicopters from Vietnam and Desert Storm. You can also see an active restoration shop where volunteers work.
