Do I have to use them consecutively?
The JR All Kyushu Rail Pass comes in 3-day, 5-day, and 7-day passes, but they are all only valid for consecutive periods . In other words, if you first use it on January 1st, the 3-day pass will expire on January 3rd, and the 5-day pass will expire on the 5th.

The JR All Kyushu Rail Pass allows you to use all reserved and non-reserved seats on all Shinkansen (Mizuho, Sakura, Tsubame, Kamome) within the designated operating area. It also allows you to use all reserved and non-reserved seats on all limited express trains within the designated operating area, and all local trains within the designated operating area.
However, the JR Kyushu Rail Pass cannot be used on the Shinkansen between Hakata and Kokura, which is part of the Sanyo Shinkansen operated by JR West!

* Fare: D&S train (tourist train) → 1,500 yen Regular express → 1,000 yen (per seat)

* Advance seat reservations are available from 10:00 AM one month prior to the boarding date.
* The advance reservation fee for reserved seats will be paid directly by credit card when you reserve your seat on the JR Kyushu website.
