Do I need to use the 3-day/5-day pass consecutively?
The JR Northern Kyushu Rail Pass comes in 3-day and 5-day passes, and both are valid only consecutively . That is, if you first use it on January 1st, a 3-day pass will expire on January 3rd, and a 5-day pass will expire on the 5th. You cannot skip days in the middle because they are non-consecutive.
