Da Nang/Hoi An Departure: Cham Island Snorkeling & Island Hopping Tour

Everything was terrible except for the guide. There were too many discrepancies from the product details page. The pickup was supposed to be between 7 and 8 AM, but there was no contact the day before. There was no contact on the day either, so I couldn't wait any longer and finally reached out, only to be told they would arrive between 8:30 and 8:45 AM (based on Naman Retreat). The product details page stated the tour started at 8 AM, so this was completely different. They never mentioned this beforehand. Afterwards, we drove for quite a while to leave our luggage at a shop (which made me anxious). Then, we had to take a boat to the beach and wait. Vietnamese tourists came first, so those from Korea had priority. They explained things in Vietnamese first, then in English, but the explanation was much simpler than in Vietnamese. They told us to sit and wait, but if we sat down, we had to buy drinks and pay for them. It wasn't cheap, and as soon as we ordered our drinks and they came out, we had to get back on the boat. We went snorkeling, and there were five other people snorkeling (all Koreans). Our group consisted of three people, but they only gave us two sets. When we asked for one more since there were three of us, they said they didn't have any. The other two brought their own equipment, so the one person who didn't get a set had to jump in without any gear. I went trusting the product details page that said life jackets and equipment would be provided, but I ended up just swimming in the sea. They didn't even give us a few minutes, but we were frantically putting on and taking off our masks. Also, the smell of oil was terrible, and the water was so murky you couldn't even see. It might be fascinating for first-timers, but for someone who has done it many times, it was the worst. After snorkeling for such a short while, we returned to the island to eat. They kept forcing us to drink beverages. Then we went to Cham Island, where they gave us an hour of free time, which was pure agony. It felt like such a waste of time on an island with nothing to do. We never visited the temple, well, or market mentioned on the details page, and the pickup vehicle was packed so tightly that our suitcases were rolling around everywhere; it was absolute chaos. It was the worst island hopping tour I’ve ever taken! I absolutely do not want to do it again.

Miss Banana was super kind, fun, and nice! She explained the schedule well, and compared to other packages, it was cheap and didn't leak to other places, which was nice. However, I was a little worried because she said she would contact me on the day. It's operated locally, so they contact me in English and teams from various countries come. The food was okay, and they let us sit by team, so it wasn't uncomfortable. The water on Cham Island isn't that clean. Just think of it as swimming and go.

I booked a snorkeling tour to Cham Island during my trip to Da Nang. To cut to the chase, I was half satisfied and half disappointed.

 First, the most satisfying part was the snorkeling. The sea around Cham Island was as clear as I'd expected, and it was wonderful to see a variety of fish. The tour guide even took pictures for me, which made for a wonderful keepsake. The seafood lunch was also generous and satisfying.

 However, the travel time was disappointing. The journey from Da Nang to Cham Island took longer than expected, and the boat ride was also long, making it a bit tedious. Furthermore, the snorkeling equipment wasn't in the best condition.

 Overall, the tour was okay, but the travel time and equipment condition were disappointing.

Seriously... if I hadn't gone here, I would've missed half of my Da Nang trip! The water is so clear that you can see the corals and fish really clearly when snorkeling. The boat was big and comfortable, and the staff always took care of us so there was nothing inconvenient. We also had a plentiful seafood lunch, so we ate until we were full! I took a ton of pictures with my friend, and they're all great shots. Since I made a reservation with Wag, they picked us up right away and it was super convenient.
