Timeless Taste,
Kinmata Kaiseki
Kinmata is a typical Machiya from the Meiji era in Kyoto. Machiya means a building with several shops and houses connected to the main street. The restaurant was designated as a Kyoto Tangible Cultural Property in 2001. In the center of the building is an elegant and unique Japanese-style courtyard that highlights Kyoto's characteristics, and the interior is full of artistic atmosphere. Antique wooden furniture, tables, and chairs create a quiet atmosphere. Those looking for a restaurant with a traditional Japanese atmosphere will definitely be satisfied.
The current chef is an expert in Kyoto vegetable cuisine, so a delicious Kyoto vegetable dish made with seasonal vegetables is served as part of the set menu. In addition, the chef goes to Nishiki Market, known as 'Kyoto's Kitchen,' every day to carefully select high-quality ingredients. The fish ingredients are also carefully selected fresh fish from the Sea of Japan, the Seto Inland Sea, and the Pacific Ocean. The restaurant's dining utensils are also very elaborate. All of the ceramics used in the restaurant are exquisite works of art made by Kyo-yaki, Imari-yaki, and Kutani-yaki.
Well-Prepared Japanese Flavors

Kinmata's kaiseki cuisine uses only fresh, seasonal ingredients carefully selected by the chef, and is full of dishes that bring out the original flavors of the freshest and least irritating ingredients.
