Fukuoka Departure: Kyushu Kumamoto Day Tour (Kumamoto Castle, Mt. Aso, Kusasenri) - WAUG Exclusive

I am writing this while on a local tour of Mt. Aso. My clothes got completely soaked from the heat when I went to Kumamoto Castle this morning, but now that I have arrived at Mt. Aso, it is raining and cold. We packed our own lunches and ate them separately at Hakata Station. Two guides are accompanying us, and they speak four languages: English, Japanese, Chinese, and Korean. Haha.

I don't really write reviews, but I'm writing this because I had such an impressive experience and was satisfied. First of all, this tour is for Chinese people and is led by a Chinese guide (who can speak English, Japanese, and Chinese). I was a little embarrassed because I didn't know this because I made the reservation in a hurry, but the guide was so kind that he kept taking care of us in English and treated us warmly, so it was a really good experience. We rode a large bus to visit Kumamoto, Mt. Aso, and local markets, which are difficult for individual foreign travelers to visit, and we had enough time and were very satisfied. Of course, there was no pressure of any kind, and at the end of the tour, we were able to get restaurant recommendations from the guide, which was the best. The driver was kind and the length and composition of the tour were very informative. Many Koreans visit Yufuin when they come to Fukuoka, but if you want to feel a real local vibe without Koreans, go to Kumamoto. I didn't hear a single word of Korean and most of the tourists were Japanese. In addition, both Kumamoto Castle and Mt. Aso were enchanting. It's a landscape that makes you think that Ghibli animations are not fantasy but reality! I recommend it twice or three times! (To be honest, I had a lot of negative perceptions about Chinese people, but everyone was so polite and kind that I was embarrassed by those thoughts.)

The guide was very kind and didn't push me too hard, and I signed up alone, but he took such good care of me that I had a great trip and decided to leave a review. I wanted to go to Mount Aso, but I heard it's difficult to get there on foot, so I was looking into bus tours, and after seeing other people's reviews, I ended up paying for it! I recommend this to people who are homebodies or want to see a lot of places efficiently, or who want to see rare natural landscapes! I was glad that the guide spoke Korean, but as other people have reviewed, please note that this tour is aimed at Chinese tourists.
