BESTI don't really write reviews, but I'm writing this because I had such an impressive experience and was satisfied. First of all, this tour is for Chinese people and is led by a Chinese guide (who can speak English, Japanese, and Chinese). I was a little embarrassed because I didn't know this because I made the reservation in a hurry, but the guide was so kind that he kept taking care of us in English and treated us warmly, so it was a really good experience. We rode a large bus to visit Kumamoto, Mt. Aso, and local markets, which are difficult for individual foreign travelers to visit, and we had enough time and were very satisfied. Of course, there was no pressure of any kind, and at the end of the tour, we were able to get restaurant recommendations from the guide, which was the best. The driver was kind and the length and composition of the tour were very informative. Many Koreans visit Yufuin when they come to Fukuoka, but if you want to feel a real local vibe without Koreans, go to Kumamoto. I didn't hear a single word of Korean and most of the tourists were Japanese. In addition, both Kumamoto Castle and Mt. Aso were enchanting. It's a landscape that makes you think that Ghibli animations are not fantasy but reality! I recommend it twice or three times! (To be honest, I had a lot of negative perceptions about Chinese people, but everyone was so polite and kind that I was embarrassed by those thoughts.)
We introduce a tour that will take you from Kumamoto Castle to Mt. Aso's Kusasenri. The minimum number of participants for this tour is 1, so you don't have to worry about cancellation due to insufficient number of participants. You can leave with more peace of mind as an experienced English guide will accompany you on the tour. If you want to get away from the complex city and spend a day with nature and history, go on this tour!
From Kumamoto Castle
To Aso-san Kusasenri
This tour starts from Fukuoka Hakata Station or the first course, Kumamoto Castle, and allows you to experience the magnificent nature of Mt. Aso. After meeting in front of Lawson Oriental Hotel Fukuoka at 8:00 AM, we will move to Kumamoto Castle and have about 1 hour and 30 minutes of free time. It would be a good idea to use your free time to visit Kumamon Square, the mascot of the Kumamoto region! After that, we will travel to Mt. Aso and Kusasenri, and the time given is about 1 hour and 30 minutes to 2 hours. See Mt. Aso, an active volcano, up close and experience the mystery of nature firsthand!
Afterwards, the tour ends with a return trip to Kumamoto Station on the Aso Boy train or a tour bus back to Hakata Station in Fukuoka. The Aso Boy train is home to 101 mascot Kuro characters, making it a perfect ride for children to create special memories.
