Traditional Performance Up Close with a Real Maiko

Enjoy traditional dances performed live by a Maiko active in Kyoto. A Maiko is an apprentice who trains in traditional arts and etiquette to become a Geisha. During the performance, you will see approximately 10 minutes of traditional dance in two separate 5-minute segments. Experience the Maiko's delicate movements, costumes, and traditional arts from a close distance.


From Q&A to Traditional Games and Photos

The experience continues after the traditional dance. There will be a Q&A session where you can ask the Maiko anything you're curious about, allowing you to learn more about the Maiko's life and Kyoto's traditional culture. You can also enjoy Japanese traditional games with the Maiko and take commemorative photos together at the end. The entire experience lasts about 1 hour, designed to offer both performance viewing and cultural exchange.


Two Experiences to Suit Your Taste

When booking, you can choose between the Tea House option or the Gion Theatre option. The Tea House option takes place in a traditional Kyoto Machiya and includes a walking tour to a shrine. The Gion Theatre option involves enjoying the Maiko performance and experience at a showhouse.
